To each his own. To me my own.

Ocean

Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea

Have you ever felt like running somewhere, anywhere – only to be reminded there’s really nowhere for you to run?

Full moon ahead.

Kinda like being caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Even as a child, this phrase intrigued me. It seems most logical for me to believe it may have derived from Greek mythology – when Homer’s Odyssey refers to Odysseus being caught between Scylla (a six-headed monster) and Charybdis (a whirlpool).

Full moon alert.

However, I’ve run upon another possible origin that may hold water – pardon the pun – which is the nautical theory. In sailing terminology, the word “Devil” (devill) refers to the seam between the deck planking and the topmost plank of a vessel’s side. This seam had to be watertight, so it required continuous caulking. When a ship was at sea, it sometimes became necessary for a sailor to be suspended over the side or edge to perform this maneuver. Makes perfect sense to me how this might have translated into ‘between the devil and the deep sea’.

Move along, quickly now… full moon out.

All the talk of deep blue seas and moons brings to mind their lovely counterparts – the tides and currents. Thanks to the gravity force between Earth and the Moon, the Moon is ultimately responsible for many of the tides in our Earth’s oceans. During the full and new Moons, the Earth, Moon and Sun are lined up – which produces higher high tides (Spring Tides) and lower low tides. Sorry to bore, but I’ve always found the tides and their reasoning fascinating.

As a child, I remember walking along the beach in my nightgown under the light of a full moon, which I used to call ‘whole’ moon. I’ve written about this night before.  I had this clear plastic blue ring which I used to filter the moon to a beautiful bright blue hue. Since then, I’ve never witnessed any setting that matched the beauty of the moonlit beach on that particular night. Even as a child I appreciated it – I stood there mesmerized taking it all in, wishing I never had to leave. Since our vacation house was directly behind me on the beach, my mother allowed me to linger there under her watchful eye. It’s still a strong, magical and precious memory – one I hope I never lose.

I’d still like to run somewhere. Preferably to a desolate beach at low tide, underneath a full moon…

Miles away from Ordinary

Sitting in front of the Atlantic ocean writing a blog has just now become one of my favorite things to do. My love is beside me, as well as a cooler full of cold beers… and waves are crashing so rhythmically that it’s a sound finer than that of any music I’ve ever heard.

I stole the idea from Perpetually Peeved to keep track of blog ideas via the ‘notes’ app on my iPhone. Works pretty well… although mine are far less interesting than hers. Here’s what I have so far, in raw form:

• People wading around in the cold ocean, and swimming in the unheated pool.
• Old couple walking the dog with the ball in his mouth the whole time.
• Beautiful bright spinning star that changes colors (Sirius).
• ‘Beetlejuice’ star that is constantly red, part of the constellation ‘Orion’ the Hunter.
• Waiting for a prettier shell to come along.

There’s more that packed this already jumbled head but I’m still trying to get the hang of jotting things down before I forget! It’s not fun maneuvering a blog around via a phone, so I’ll end this with an attempt to load a picture.

Blessings to all for a wonderful weekend!!

Flip flops

It’s gonna be that ‘great kind of weekend’. Got a room reserved waiting for us at the beach, just need to get down there. Only flip flops shall adorn these feet this weekend, as I’m not taking any other kind of shoes. Well, maybe I will take some tennies – but as a last of the season rebellion I’ll strive hard not to wear them.

Hope everyone has a beautiful and blessed weekend…

Gentle Breeze

I’ve been slammed at work the past couple of days which I know is a good thing – although it’s not so much my normal production work, it’s those challenges that come around every so often that make my head hurt. I know, all the better to keep the old brain sharpened. The icing on the cake just came when our payables person just told us our pay will be deposited a day late, for reason of the Veteran’s Day holiday. Amazing. Some people do actually still live paycheck to paycheck, and what a difference one damn day can make in such a case.

We’re going to try to get to the coast this weekend. It’s still in the dream stages right now as no lodging has been reserved, but a big dream nonetheless. To feel the ocean breeze in my face… well it just sounds heavenly.

Here’s to Wednesdays, and the fact that it’s 5 o’clock somewhere.

Surroundings

She loves it so
her natural habitat, the current and waves
a bond that could never be broken

Clear turquoise water
flows through her gills
tepid and calm, and she’s free

Yet thoroughly enveloped.

This beautiful realm, her armor
no worries, no pain; no sorrows, no strife
dangers prevalent, instincts trusted

Abundant sustenance, no rich, no poor
no lies, no deception
beauty thrives in every direction
and time is never defined.

The fish is me. The current, Keith.

My favorite full moon

The full moon arrives tonight at 5:06pm EST. I was reminiscing last night about my very favorite ‘whole moon’ ever, which is what I used to call them as a child.

I was an eleven year-old girl, and we were vacationing at the beach for a week. My uncle had rented a oceanfront house for us located at the very end of the beach – a very private and exquisite place. I remember my mother, grandmother and I being taken aback and feeling like royalty.

One night, Mom let me walk out on the beach alone, barefoot in my little silk nightgown. There happened to be a full moon on that night, and the incandescent light flooded the ocean and the sand in a most beautiful way. It was the brightest night I ever do remember, and the sand appeared white as snow.

You know those blinding diamonds the sunshine makes on the water? The moon made them too; only they were of a different hue and vibrancy – matte white diamonds highlighted solely by the big white moon. As I walked along the shoreline with my nightgown flowing in the breeze, I imagined what it would be like to be a grown woman. I glanced down at my feet every so often to make sure they were still touching the wet sand, like it was a dream that I would wake up from at any time. That night, I was in front of the most beautiful ocean I’ve ever seen – to me, the beauty of that night hasn’t been matched since.

I remember thinking ‘if I could just stay here – in the moonlight on this seashore, for the rest of my life… I’d be happy’. Rather odd thinking for an eleven year-old child. As I look back though, I realize that was the place and time where my love for the ocean really started. I mean true love… and true appreciation. From then on, our seas and all of it’s inhabitants have remained just as mesmerizing to me. It’s the one thing in this world that still remains magical to me… no matter how old of a child I grow to be.

Welcome back, whole moon.

A fish named Bonnie

Oh how I’ve missed my little blog! I feel the weight of a thousand plus words just waiting to be written, though I’ll spare you that one today. It really is amazing how dependent I’ve gotten on this ‘release valve’ of mine (I love calling it that) and when I can’t write, or vent, well – it’s like a part of me is missing.

Late last week I graciously acquired a case of the intestinal flu. I have not been this sick in at least twenty years – it literally landed me on my ass. This is something that I would not wish on my very worst enemy. I was more than a little concerned over our beach trip and the fact that my boyfriend would also contract this highly contagious virus, since we’d been together for dinner just the night prior. Amazingly enough, as of right now post-weekend – he’s still virus-free. I thank the Lord for this.

So we had our little beach trip. 🙂 K called it ‘one of the most amazing times he’s ever had’ to which I have to agree. Ironically enough, his sister and her husband were also taking a trip down there, staying 2 blocks up from us! It made for double fun, we got together for a bikini lunch on the beach then had dinner later at Murrell’s Inlet, and barhopped a couple of venues there on the tiki strip.

Saturday night, we went out to the infamous Garden City Pier (I heart this place) where in peak season, a band plays at both ends of the pier. We actually found a table at the end of the pier where the band Coldshot was playing. Keith made a dream of mine come true when he stood and held his hand out to me for our first slow-dance ever on the pier. I can honestly say I have never been more in love with him than at that very moment – and it’s that moment in time I know I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

Another first happened when we were in the ocean – we were about waist-deep (chest-deep with the waves) when he noticed about 100 or so feet out a pack of dolphins gracing us with their presence. As the waves allowed, we watched them move rhythmically in and out for about 8 minutes from one side of the ocean to the other, until they finally faded from our sight. I’ve never physically been in the ocean and privy to dolphin sitings all at once, and we both felt very privileged.

I’ll even go so far as to say it was magical. But then again… so was the dance.

It’s all about US

K and I went out for Mexican last night to a fave little hangout, then touched on a few stores looking for a very particular type of lounge-chair. The chairs look something like this…

These chairs just look like us. And yes, there’s a particular reason we need want them. There will be an upcoming beach trip in our future. Not a long one, but one nonetheless. A high-rise oceanfront trip to the beach is very much mandated at this time… as well as a few slow dances on the end of a very long pier, Nights in Rodanthe style.

Our last beach trip was during New Year’s Eve 2010, which was absolutely the coolest New Year’s I’ve ever had – not to mention the most meaningful. I don’t even have words to describe the deep respect he and I have for one another – the things we’ve been through together and how we’ve chosen to deal with them have only served to make each of us a stronger and hopefully wiser individual.

The philosophical tangent is done. Suffice it to say I need a vacation. As for K? Well, put a man on a decade-plus long stretch of no vacations, and believe me when I say he’s ready too.

And I’m more than willing to help entertain. 🙂

Green eggs and ham, hurricane Bonnie I am

It’s basically what I feel like this morning, green and salty. I could think of no better title. I know my last few posts have ventured over to the darker side, and I need to brighten it up. There’s no better way to begin that brighter note than to say it is a Friday!

I’m not gonna have the chance to write about this again for a long time, as it’s already been twelve years since the last one. I doubt I’ll reach hurricane status this time, but we’ll see.

The last hurricane Bonnie was in 1998. Ironically enough, she made landfall on August 27th, my eleventh wedding anniversary. 1998 was to be an iconic year for me, just as 2008 was. Something about that number 8 has always come into play for me. In 1988, my beautiful daughter was born. In 1998, my dear stepfather left this earth to go to heaven. And in 2008, I walked away from a twenty-one year marriage. I have more fascinating stories… but that’s a whole other blog. 🙂

I don’t know where you guys are – but it’s supposed to reach 100 degrees here for at least the next three days. Guess this begins the old ‘dog days of summer’. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend… and stay cool out there!!

Fear Factor

There was another shark attack on the SC coastline this past weekend involving a 13-yr old girl, and I just read of another incident yesterday with a 10-year old boy. Though both were injured, they’ll be okay. Are the attacks increasing, or is it just me?

I probably watched a total of several hours combined this weekend of Expedition Great White on Nat Geo channel. These presentations are obviously a very favorite of mine, and anytime one is on (any shark show, for that matter) it never ceases to capture my full attention. Aside from pursuing writing, it would’ve been a lifetime dream to have a career in marine biology. I simply cannot imagine the ability to do that for a living. I’d literally scrub the decks of the vessel just to be there for a couple weeks time, to have that experience. I hope to be able to go down in a cage someday… I know it’s gotta be expensive, but it’s on my bucket-list anyway.

©2010, National Geographic

This shark was successfully tagged and released on an episode of Expedition Great White. The scientists, doctors and crew are all super-intricately careful as to how this is accomplished – and the safety of the shark is of utmost importance. I felt the need to explain the purpose of this photo because it almost appears as a hunt-and-capture shot… but it’s not.

We are learning so much more about these magnificent creatures. The research being done on them now has intensified times ten. It amazes me every time I witness a twenty-foot great white be caught, exhausted, and captured temporarily on a custom platform designed specifically for it. This has enabled so many different procedures to be performed that were never before possible. The sharks are successfully released well within 20 minutes. These shows have really raised awareness of our marine life, for which I’m grateful.

My mother and I used to go way out into the ocean, floating sometimes for long periods. We never pondered the the thought of a shark, much less ever ‘worried’ about it. Now? Well, I still love and respect the ocean more than ever. But you would literally have to dope me up (very well) in order to get me to go out over my head and remain there for any length of time NOW. So what’s changed? I mean, we knew enough then – we’d even seen the movie Jaws. But we didn’t have that certain ‘fear factor’ then. I’m still not quite getting that.

There are several things you can do to help prevent a shark attack, most of which are common sense. Even with that said, sometimes common sense factors aren’t exercised. For one, don’t go out swimming around a pier. Swimming in water where all that bait is never smart, besides, you don’t want to be hooked yourself, right? Also, stay in groups whenever possible as sharks are more likely to attack a solitary individual. Avoid being in the water around daybreak or twilight, because this is when sharks are most active. Never wade deep when you are bleeding. Avoid wearing shiny jewelry, since the reflected light resembles the sheen of fish scales. Lastly, avoid areas where you see diving seabirds – this generally signals a sign of bait fishes or other feeding activity.

If you are in the ocean and spot a shark, the international hand signal for ‘shark’ is a flat hand with thumb against forehead, as in a fin. Be sure to use it if you need to – your voice alone is not much help when you’re in the ocean.

For the latest information on shark attacks, this one’s a great tool. http://www.sharkattackinfo.com/

Tropical Storm Bon (nie)

I love looking at pictures of hotels and condos for rent at the beach. With all the online photo galleries and virtual tours they have now, it’s almost taking a little mini-vacation.

Almost.

K and I spent a good bit of last night checking out different places online. Our one-year anniversary is only a couple of weeks away, and we’ve talked about trying to head down to the coast for a couple of nights. I can hardly believe it’s been a year already…

Last night he took me out to a place called Logan’s not far from his house. They have the second-to-best ribs I’ve ever had in my life. Simply delectable… fall-off-the-bone-waste-not-a-bit-of-meat goodness. I’ve only experienced one place that beats Logan’s on ribs, and that would be TK Tripps at the beach.

For a four-day week, this sure has been a long one – I’m thankful for the Friday. The heat has been immeasurable this whole week, with highs around 98-100º. Thankfully, we’re getting a break starting tomorrow with hopefully some rain and definite lower temps.

K told me last night that the next-up tropical storm will take the name Bonnie. Well well well. I distinctly remember over a decade ago when Hurricane Bonnie ripped through Myrtle Beach. It’s hard to fathom the name has already made it’s way back around again. I never did score me one of those “I survived Bonnie” t-shirts back in ’98…

Happy weekend, everyone. ♥

Rest, Relaxation and Reality

I got a full night’s rest last night without waking up even once, until about 0830 this morning. My guy took me to see the movie Eclipse last night, what a great movie. No, I am not one of those over-40 women who gush over the boy stars (but umm, let me say there’s only one that I still consider a boy…) 🙂 I think what I love so much about the saga is it’s the perfect mix of action, drama and romance. And let’s face it, it’s unrealistic – so the Piscean in me basks in that dreamy part of it too. Anyway, I won’t spoil it for you – just to say if you haven’t yet seen it, it’s a must-see.

A day off, finally. What a joy to not have anything to do or anywhere to go. Pressing, that is. Time is at my own pace, and come what will. The weather is cooler, humidity is down, sun still shining, and hallelujah Praise God I’m off for three whole days. Even a simple trip to the grocery store and to tan was enjoyable this morning. Rode with the windows down and my hair blowing, just like it was spring again.

Now, if someone would just invent a Virtual Vacation to the beach, I’d be just peachy. Everyone I know is either en route there, or on the way back. I’m serious when I say everyone. Well, almost. Most of my friends on facebook are, my daughter is, my cousins are, I don’t need to go on. Guess I’ll be there one day soon, hopefully. My friend is getting married at the beach on August 22nd, so I’ll definitely be there on that day even if I have to drive down alone for that. She so deserves this most perfect day in her life and I’m so happy for her.

I do love fairytale endings… and they happen so rarely in Real Life. Hmmm, maybe the fairytale is what I love so much about the Twilight Saga. ♥

Bits and Pieces

I gazed down at myself as I sat down in my car seat this morning and discovered a spider had hitched a ride down the stairs with me. Lovely. I should be used to it by now I so hate spiders.

On a brighter note, here comes our holiday finally and with it the three-day weekend. Longer for some, I know, but I’ll take the extra day and not complain a bit. I recently made a friend who frequents the lake (via boat) and she invited us out this weekend. I’m SO STOKED I couldn’t be more excited if I were going to the beach. Wellll, I might be a bit more excited about that – but this is still major to me. I haven’t had a good day out on a boat in well, I don’t count last year because the boat never even moved from it’s stationery spot. So, three years now. That’s far too long for ole’ water-Bon to be a land-lubber. Craving the ocean too, but that’s a whole other story. The lake will most definitely temporarily suffice.

So, Eclipse has come out. All of my New Moon buddies have seen it so far and are telling me it’s mega-awesome, so I can’t wait to see it. My guy said something about Monday and it probably will be less crowded that day. One friend of mine was going to see it for the second time last night. The last movie I went to see more than once was Nights in Rodanthe, which I saw 3 times at the theatre. I didn’t know it at the time, but that movie was to become a staple in my newfound single life.

I have a friend who is taking his girlfriend to the beach this weekend – and planning to ‘pop the question’ to her. From what he said, she’s wanted this for a long time, and what better time than July 4th holiday? I’m such a romantic, so I bask in stories like these. I got all sappy yesterday when I heard what he was planning, and the girls at work were laughing at me. I can only explain it by saying that I’ve never in my life had anyone who actually wanted to marry me, so I guess that’ll make a person a romantic if nothing else will. I can’t wait to hear how he did it when he gets back in town… will he propose on the pier? On the beach? Or maybe at Broadway, standing underneath the fireworks after they start… my goodness, I love that idea….

Stay tuned. 🙂

Beam me to the Beach?

Saturday morning is finally here. What to do, what to do. There’s a whole list of things, actually.

Yesterday after work I splurged on myself and indulged in a pedicure. I’ve been doing them myself for many months now, and it felt so nice to be pampered that way, especially on a Friday. Last night we went to a local diner/club that had a band playing. Had a couple beers, ate some fried pickles and quesadillas, and listened to some good music. Definitely a nice ending to the work week!

Got up on a low-key morning (couldn’t sleep late, up at 0730 drat) and had the celebratory weekend bagel. I’m gonna meet up with a friend after lunch and go in on a a Sam’s membership with her. Hoping I’ll get a lot of use outta that – there’s a location that’s very convenient in my guy’s town that I think we’ll use a lot. Maybe they’ll even be cheaper on some pool supplies, who knows.

It’s amazing that it seems like everyone on Facebook is at or going to the beach. I’ve got such beach fever that I’m literally on fire. Good thing I have my favorite beach cams for an (albeit temporary) fix.

Back to the weekend, peace!!

Sea me?

I seriously miss the ocean. It’s a source of natural healing and joy to most everyone. The sound, the smell, the look, the feel – all of it.

Salt + Water

It’s always been a magical, mystical, healing place and state of mind. The rolling of the waves, the consistently rhythmic sound of them crashing on the shore. The ocean not only completes me – but when in it’s presence, all my problems become nonexistent. It’s no wonder I want to live at the coast.

I never tire of hearing the new song Water by Brad Paisley  (see high-def video here!). (You really should check it out, it’s an awesome feel-good video) 🙂
All you really need this time of year
Is a pair of shades, and an ice cold beer
And a place to sit, somewhere nearrrr…
Water.

I crave salt, and water. The solution… is dilution.

The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea.
~Isak Dineson

Azure

I recently ran across these pictures and immediately fell in love with them.
I’m picky about my island pics… they have to possess that certain ‘something’.

Can’t you just get lost in ’em? The beautiful hue of azure, the pillowy clouds… the virgin white sand.

C’mon, admit it… you’d like to be here just as much as I would. Wouldn’t ya?

One day. Yep. One day….
Until then my sweet, I’ll see you in my dreams.

Water

I don’t much believe in coincidence. I think it’s a rare if ever instance where something happens that doesn’t have meaning behind it. Now I know that’s just my opinion, but ya have to admit that way of thinking does make life a bit more interesting. Keeps the ole’ brain active. Anywho, that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.

It’s raining to beat the band this morning. Thunderstorms arrived late yesterday, and the rain has been torrential at times. It’s supposed to continue throughout the day today, and the area’s in bad need of it so I say bring it on.

Water.

You could never have convinced me a year ago that this ole’ girl would turn country – but that’s exactly what has happened. Although I still love my alternative, I have my radio set to the two local country stations 24/7. Hell I even sleep to it.

Back to coincidence. So I’m driving in to work this morning in the torrential rain and the song Water by Brad Paisley comes on. Here’s a guy who must heart the wet stuff just as much as I do. You’ve seriously got to watch this video… not only is it a terrific song but it’s probably the most ‘fun’ video I’ve ever seen!!

Watch it here!!

**Brad Paisley is seriously hot in it too… OMG… he SO reminds me of my own guy… WOW**

Yeah when that summer sun starts to beatin’ down
And you don’t know what to do
Grab your swimming trunks
Ice up that old igloo
Drive until the map turns blue

This is a song I can go to my happy place with. Come along song, and travel with me to my happy place. You can come too, Bradley. JK, I’ll bring your stunt-double instead, the best guy in the universe.

All you really need this time of year
Is a pair of shades
And ice cold beer
And a place to sit somewhere near
Water.

The Seashell

Call it beach fever, call it what you will. I’m yearning to see the ocean. The poem I posted a couple days ago A Seraphim’s Calling is one of my favorites – even though the author is unknown, it will always remain so. I’ve often wished I had one of my very own poems detailing my love for the ocean. My own tribute in a sense, to the sea.

I don’t tackle writing poetry anymore. I did write a few things when I was younger, but I never did really see anything special in any of them. I’d usually wind up stumped, halted in midstream, left with only half or part of ‘something’ – something that may have been nothing anyway. Why bother doing something that frustrates you, right? Well, I was looking at a few shells on my desk at work, thinking man, are they ever out of their element…

The 'inspirational' shells on my desk...

…and this one actually came fairly easy. Hope you like it. Obviously it doesn’t pay for me to think too long on any one subject – there’s just no telling where it’ll land me. 😉

The Shell

If I were to be but a shell
opalescent tan and blue
I’d have slivers of magenta
representing of me too.

My edges would be ultra smooth
my body voluptuous curving
my insides would be polished gleam
just as such deserving

If I were to be but a shell
my thoughts they would be few
just the magic of forever
consumed in all the new

I’d wander up upon a beach
where no one else dare walk
barren, fertile, and unknown
no piers, no nets, no docks

If I were to be but a shell
I’d roll on with the tide
to swim along with dolphins
in waves we would collide

In the moonlight I would lie
so motionless and still
biding time until the morn’
when sunlight brings new thrill

If I were to be but a shell
I’d drift on out to sea
along with all my comrades
to experience the free.

A Seraphim’s calling

Thought I’d share one of my most favorite, though not inherently famous, poems. I actually don’t know who wrote this, but know that I have taken the liberty of correcting a few grammatical instances. I’ve tried multiple times to research the author online, to no avail.

I believe the reason the poem means so much to me because of the obvious love the author has for the sea.

So, what is a seraphim? A seraph (Heb. שׂרף, pl. שׂרפים Seraphim, lat. seraph[us], pl. seraphi[m]) is one of a class of celestial beings mentioned once in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, in Isaiah. Later Jewish imagery perceived them as having human form, and in that way they passed into the ranks of Christian angels. In the Christian angelic hierarchy, seraphim represent the highest rank of angels. (Thanks, Wikipedia.)

The highest-ranking angels. This person really does love the ocean.

Beautiful Blue, a seraphim call
Gentle as the rain, like the breeze through green palms
Translucent, glowing, glistening in the Sun
Sweet kisses of light, whispers of things to come
Shy and courageous, fearless and fearing
Warm and cold, rough and endearing
Painfully tender, softly screaming
Lost then found, dull then gleaming
Passionate months of high and low tides
Midsummer night dreams, tumbling joyrides
The scent of Earth, detailed as grains of sand
Vast is the universe as nature is grand
Iridescent turquoise, deep and mysterious
Crystal clear shining, silly then serious
Powerful as an earthquake, like two lovers on the beach
Peaceful and kind, strong but easily weak
Calling out to you with every wave
Crashing into dark echoing caves
Soul searching, constant friction
Like rainbows in waterfalls
Beautiful Blue, a seraphim call…

The mariner has landed

I’ve decided that my ‘theme’ of the summer is gonna be nautical (yeah I know, my theme every summer is nautical). I’m now on a very stringent search for a silver pendant for a necklace. Nautically-themed, and I definitely want it to include an anchor. I ran across this one online and fell in love with it. I found it about a month ago and saved the picture, but I don’t know what website I found it on! The dufus I am.

Onto the rant of the day. Why can’t everyone just mind their manners and act nice? It’s not that difficult really. There’s always gonna be that idiot out there waiting to ruin your day. If ya don’t believe me, just look up a (positive) news story or youtube video, and check out the flow of comments underneath. I guarantee you the more comments it has, the more idiots on there saying stupid chit just to try and stir the pot or offend someone. Now I see why alot of people who upload vids to youtube disable the ability to leave comments.

So a famous television producer (formerly of Survivor) is being held in suspicion of the death of his wife while on vacation in Cancun. Now it’s come out that last weekend she found out he was having an affair. YOU KNOW ME, HERE IT COMES…. WTF??? Are ALL men cheaters? Wait, I know the answer to that – but it still doesn’t stop me from asking the question from time to time. What the hell are these men thinking? With? Ya wanna have sex with someone other than your wife? Okay, then save her the pain and humiliation and just separate first. Is it really that hard? Pardon the pun…

It’s all a big steamin’ pile of pelosi, I tell you.

I received an email recently that I just have to share the contents of.

NEW CUSS WORD

(No, not curse… we call it cuss here in the south so get used to it)

Years ago when I sometimes used unsavory language, I often used the expression “Bull S***.” As I grew up a bit and discovered it was not necessary to use such crude language, the expression became “BS.”

What did I really mean when I used those expressions? I meant that something was ridiculous, or idiotic or a half truth or just plain stupid. It covered any number of negative formats. The dictionary defines it as: nonsense; especially: foolish insolent talk.

I have decided that I no longer will use either of those expressions in the future. When I have a need to express such feelings, I will use the word “pelosi.” Let me use it in a sentence. “That’s just a bunch of pelosi.”  I encourage you to do the same. It is such a nasty sounding word, it really packs a punch, we are no longer being vulgar, and it clearly expresses our feelings. If enough of us use it, perhaps the word could be entered into the dictionary.

When on a ranch watch your step and don’t step in pelosi. It will get on the bottom of your boot and won’t go away until the next election. What a fitting and descriptive legacy for the Speaker of the House!

PASS IT ON TO AT LEAST 10,000,000 PEOPLE. DO NOT BREAK THIS CHAIN OR YOU WILL GET MORE PELOSI THAN YOU CAN SHAKE A BULL AT.

Please and thank you.
