Blogger Buddy Awareness Day
One of my New Year’s resolutions was to read more of what my fellow bloggers have to say – even if it meant me writing less. I figured if I didn’t have anything interesting to post (which often I don’t) I’d just utilize the time to enjoy the intellect of others. This has been one of the few resolutions that I’ve actually kept, and turns out to be the most beneficial one.
Most of us have heard the saying ‘listen more, speak less’. I’ve never taken that in the literal sense perhaps like I should. In carrying out my resolution, I discovered an invaluable treasure when I chose to ‘read more, write less’.
The extra effort I’ve put into reading more has opened up a whole new world. The depth of talent out there amazes me, and I’ve learned much from each of you. All this compels me to search and read even more. I have a deep appreciation for all the thoughts, music, ideas, art, poems and pictures you guys give so freely for the rest of us to enjoy.
I just wanted to take a moment to give a shout-out to all you gifted souls out there… and thank you for sharing a piece of your world with the rest of us.
Very nice blog Bonnie. As a writer I wish I only had the time to read more. What a wonderful idea you had…peace Jaz

Thanks Jaz – I wish there were a way to thank everyone personally. I’m very happy to have stumbled onto your blog and enjoy it so!

Blogging is hard work. And just because you keep at it doesn’t mean you’ll get anything out of it. So enjoy and cultivate relationships with others who share your passion. That way you get at least one good thing from blogging.

Anything I write is purely for my own release, so I’ve never worried much about working hard at it. Now that I’m taking more time to read others, it’s shown me this galaxy of unlimited talent that was unknown to me before now. I so admire your love for animals and how much you give to them!

When I first started blogging, I read more and was always inspired. Since then, there have been a few changes on WordPress which points out my impatience and laziness to making the effort to read. Thank you for reminding me to do so again.

I know what you mean about the changes to WP, Debbie. I very much enjoy reading your beautiful words and poems, so glad to have found you! 🙂

I used to read and comment on people’s blogs at lot more than I have been lately, and I miss it! (As you know.) I think that’s a great resolution to have, Bonnie! I feel like it makes the whole blogging experience more enjoyable. Plus, you get to know people better by reading their writing, and you get to form these sort of friendships that you never would have had if you had not been blogging, and also reading/commenting on other people’s blogs. It’s pretty great! 🙂

It does form a type of bond and friendship, doesn’t it? And if the person steps back for awhile, I worry about them. I just can’t convey how much I’ve learned from you all. I miss your posts too, but I know how life is at times and know you’re still there, for that I’m very thankful! 🙂

It’s good to listen to many people because I can break down myself.

You’re right, Cocomino. This whole blogging experience has most definitely taught me so much about myself. The amazing thing about that is, much of my self-discovery came as a result of the words from all of you.

This is a bright idea, Bonnie. After reading this, I am actually considering doing the same. “Listen more, speak less; Read more, write less” sounds pretty much interesting.
Bonnie, your posts lately are magnetizing — SERIOUSLY.
Thank you too for sharing your world through wordpress’! I’m not saying though that I am a talented blogger (but according to my criteria you are).

Thanks Sony, for your kind words to me – I feel undeserving. It really has opened up a whole new world out there. I so enjoy your writing and pictures and love getting that email that says you’ve posted a new one. You have an amazing talent of your own!

When I started blogging I never realized how absorbed I’d become in reading other blogs and interacting with the readers on my blog. I really try and remind myself to balance out the time I spend on both sides of blogging.

The array of talent out there never ceases to amaze me! And I guess the old saying’s true after all, variety is the spice of life. 🙂
