To each his own. To me my own.

Bed, Breakfast and Wine

I hope all the mothers out there had a fantastic Mother’s Day weekend! Saturday night we took both of our mothers out to eat (they finally got to meet each other, yay!). Sunday, my daughter took me out to lunch then drove me about an hour down the road to Old Stone Winery. There we enjoyed a wine tasting then some down time on the patio which overlooked the vineyards. I fell in love with the peach wine, of which she bought me a bottle to enjoy later. 🙂

Once back in town, Keith met me over at my place and we gave our best attempt at getting my bed to his house. My mattress is one of the heaviest ever made, I’m convinced of it. As far as help goes, unfortunately I was no good to him so we ended up enlisting help from a fellow apartment-dweller. Many thanks again to a good samaritan! Since my bed’s now a permanent resident of a spare room at Keith’s house, I am as well. There’s still much to do before the final move when I rent the truck, but since I pass right by there on the way ‘home’ at least it’s convenient to be there every day to pack.

It’s now nineteen miles one way to work. I realize some people drive much further than that, but it’s still a big difference from what I’m used to. From the angle I’m seeing it, it averages about two gallons of gas per day. Ugh. But, I knew this beforehand.

K’s new pool liner was installed yesterday! It’s gonna be a good summer…

  1. Look at the size of your pool! When can I come visit? I’ll bring peach wine for us to drink in the pool.

That sounds delightful, Thoughts! And if we drink too much and fall off the floats, it’s not deep so we could just stand up. 🙂

Thanks Vix! Believe it or not, it’s the one I didn’t think I’d like. I’m not fond of the peach flavor… but somehow this doesn’t taste peachy to me, just light and crisp! 🙂

I can’t wait until it’s warm enough to actually get in, Duke!

It sounds like you had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I didn’t go wine tasting, but I had a great day also. I’m still trying to get use to my new shortER hair and I do love it, BUT now I have to blow dry and style it, which I haven’t had to do for YEARS! And hairspray! I can’t tell you the last time I used hairspray! BUT, it does look better than the “hag” hair {Amber’s term} I had. Give me another 6 months and I’ll have it down pat!!
I’m happy to hear that your bed has a new home!! Now it’s time to pack the rest up. I know, it’s easier said than done!
Oh, that pool looks great. How I wish we had a pool! I don’t believe the river behind our house counts as one, so enjoy it for me too.
    Love you!

I’m so glad you had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I’ll bet your hair looks fabulous. You know, I opted for a different style just several months ago. It took me a good month and a half to get the ‘nitch’ of styling it, but now I love it. And I would certainly count that river… oh how I love the river. Really, I love any large body of water… especially when the sun is sparkling on it. Love you!! 🙂

  5. Sounds like both of your mothers had a good Mother’s Day and so did you! We relaxed and enjoyed our apartment. We thought about going out to dinner, but we can do that any time. Mother’s Day is really busy at restaurants. My children live very far away, so I received phone calls from them. Blessings to you…

I’m glad you had an enjoyable relaxing day Carol Ann, that’s what Mother’s Day is all about. You’re right, I try to avoid the restaurants that Sunday as well. Seems like everyone has the same idea to have dinner out on that day! Blessings to you…
