To each his own. To me my own.

Bon Factoids

I’m a simple southern girl who the ocean and mountains never ceases to captivate.

I also…

Love sunrises, sunsets, summer, daisies and butterflies. Can be very opinionated, especially when it comes to politics and religion. Find it hard to tolerate a natural born smart-ass. Have an intense appreciation for good comedians. Find that actions speak much louder than words to me. Love to people-watch. Often wish that like the computer, life had an undo command. Believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, gave his life on the cross to wipe away my many sins. Really enjoy an unplanned nap, even better when it’s raining out. Buy myself fresh flowers regularly. Treasure my family and true friends like there’s no tomorrow. Kill houseplants. Love long hot showers and baths. Am terrified of extreme heights. Suck at any sport except frisbee. Have no idea what my natural hair color is anymore. Am both a dog and a cat person. Swear a lot, but will not do so around children or unfamiliar company. Am directionally challenged and severely accident-prone. Assign ‘theme songs’ for certain situations and even certain people – if you’re in my life, chances are you have your own theme song. Know manners are very important to me. Keep track of the full moons, they have a definite affect on people’s behavior. Live for that impromptu belly laugh. Enjoy a hard rainstorm. Find that careless errors in spelling and grammar irritate me. Am an 80’s child, but believe I was meant to be a 60’s child. Am an intense lover of meat – if nature had intended me a vegetarian I wouldn’t have been given such razor-sharp incisors. Find my dreams mean something to me, so I pay close attention to them. Do a great impression of Rocky Balboa calling for Adrianne from inside the boxing ring. Am an utterly, completely hopeless romantic. Despise food bars, there’s something very unappetizing about having to fight for your food. Find a good many of my friends are smarter than I am, which keeps me humble. Add salt to almost everything I eat – sometimes twice. Am entranced and fascinated by marine life – especially sharks. Have been told I’m too trusting. Am still lost if I leave home without my watch. Believe that no one can match a mother’s love. Took my daughter to her first Ozzy concert when she was 3 years old. Tend to turn short stories into long ones. Drink so much diet coke that it flows through my veins. Sleep with a fan year-round. Find Monkeys hilarious. Believe that Karma is one huge bitch. Don’t trust doctors. Have a career that means a lot to me. Find humor in almost everything, and consider it a gift – which annoys some people. Would love to visit the Holy Land some day. Love sushi so very much. Hate to IM. Believe Grace + Kindness = Beauty. Never get along with high-maintenance people. Am not afraid of dying but I am afraid of suffering. Learned to drive a stick-shift by a Cambodian guy named Chi who could barely speak any English. Don’t have a favorite color really… they are all beautiful.

  4. I love your About page. There are so many things I want to say, “Me, too!” about, but I’m going to stick with just two: Butterflies and monkeys.

  5. Hi Bonnie
The picture on page 24 of the couple on beach with their backs to us each with a hat sitting in the chairs on a beach is this your picture or did you get it from somewhere else? Because it has been copyrighted by gettyimages and cannot be used without license from gettyimages.

It only says on Google the picture may be subject to license.

Please give me details, etc as to if it is
    copyrighted and subject to licents.

    Thanks,

    Larry

      Hi Larry,

I honestly have no idea. I arrived at the picture through http://www.gulfrv.com/resort/employment.htm – having seen it there I knew nothing of ‘getty images’ perhaps having owned it. It’s been removed since – being the simple person I am I have no need for any trouble in that regard.

Sorry I’m not able to provide more details on the picture! I can say it brings with it a most relaxed atmosphere.

  10. Wow! I’m not quite sure how I got here, but I just had a surrealistic moment. Your words were very poetic, so I just kept reading and reading, and shaking my head as they got more and more familiar. 95% of what you said is words I live by. Crazy ironic! I took my son to his first concert to see Ozzy and Korn when he was 12. Guess which one he preferred? Go figure!
Well, now I’m going to have to spend a day reading through some of your blogs. I’m just crazy about like-minded people.

Thank you so much for your kind words! Awesome, the Ozzster AND Korn! 🙂 Thanks for stopping in, and I’m looking very forward to visiting your blog soon as well!

  11. Wow. That’s a lot of stuff. The problem, Butterfly lady, is that being a child OF the sixties means you are now IN your sixties. I have been the only sober person at the party for over 9 years. Jesus helped. The 35 prior years, well….I can send a frisbee right to your hands at your waist level from 250 feet away or more despite winds. Thanks put me on blog roll. Will do same.

    June 6, 2011 at 10:31 pm

    • Bonnie

LOL, Butterfly lady. 🙂 I admire your over nine years of being the only sober person at the party, I really do. Jesus is great like that, isn’t he? Wow, I’d love to engage you in a game of frisbee, I’m sure you’d be my best opponent yet. Best sport ever IMO, well almost – there’s still baseball. Thanks for stopping in and know that I always enjoy your delightful comments, Carl!!

  14. Yeah…me too…Butterflies and Monkey’s… Oh who am I kidding…I’m the over opinionated, unapologetic natural born smart-ass Southern Chef your mama warned you about, who loves dawgs, but was suckered by one pregnant homeless cat to open a refuge…for creachtures that now wont allow me to even be friends with a canine…with a headache, and smelly feet .,. But, I Still Love Jesus!!! Oh, did you say…Ocean under a full moon?.. peace at last…wheew thought I would never breath another breath…
Here’s my latest hopeful hit tune…just for you

    Bless You
